What it's about
For five years, CoRelation was responsible for the public affairs work of the Aduno Group and guided the entire group through a politically challenging environment. Like the entire industry, Viseca Card Services and Cashgate were under increasing political pressure. Topics such as fees, market structure and in particular the regulation of the maximum interest rate moved into focus. The goal was to represent the group's interests in the political discussion and to ensure appropriate framework conditions for the business.
Challenge
The amendment of the Consumer Credit Act concerned sensitive questions around interest rates and advertising. The political process was demanding, as consumer protection organisations, parties and authorities acted with very different interests. Fact-based arguments and the building of trust were needed to place the industry's concerns in a comprehensible way.
Result
We accompanied the revision of the Consumer Credit Act throughout the entire pre-parliamentary and parliamentary process. Through targeted public affairs work, ongoing monitoring and continuous dialogue with politics, administration and associations, the interests of Viseca and Cashgate were represented effectively and anchored in the political process.
